~ Valentine sweet treats available ~

Two years ago when Christian Richardson donned an apron and took to the kitchen to spend quality time baking cookies with his daughter Sidanae, he had no idea that this experiment would turn into a passion of satisfying the sweet tooth of people all over the island.

His day in the kitchen experimenting with variations of his sister-in-law's delicious cake and cookie recipes had him hooked, and his Sunday afternoon hobby quickly grew from casual orders from family members and friends to filling their cookie jars with their favourite sweet treat flavours.

Richardson decided to expand his audience and try his hand at his homemade cookie business, and Cookies Goodies and More was born about a year ago.

Richardson has a fulltime day job, but he looks forward to getting home to his favourite place – the kitchen – and whipping up a fresh batch of goodies for his cookie lover circle. Though his new bride Ihndhira and daughter Sidanae seldom indulge, they continuously inspire new flavours and creations for others to enjoy.

During the Christmas holiday season, Richardson received orders from many more people than he could have ever imagined. He was pleasantly surprised at the response and decided to cater to the Valentine's Day market as well – after all, the day of love would be incomplete without something to satisfy one's sweet tooth.

Richardson had a website designed, and now his homemade cookie business has expanded to include an online cookie shop where customers can reserve their favourite concoctions. For this round of cookie sales, Richardson added gifts that he is hoping will entice cookie lovers and their Valentines, including "the very exciting" Rose Cookie Bouquet.

Orders can be placed until noon on February 13, for delivery on Valentine's Day. The assortment includes regular cookies and bite-sized nibblers in many different flavours, cookie pops (cookies on a stick inspired by lollipops), cookie cakes, cookie platters, cookie tins and baskets.

The baskets in particular are Valentine's Day specials and include choices of tea, coffee and wine to enjoy your cookies with (teddy bears and mugs are included in all baskets).

Cookie sales will continue past the V-day frenzy. Richardson is willing to expand the business as far as his customers take him. Cookie flavours include butter cookies; oatmeal mixes, including the bestseller oatmeal cranberry white chocolate, regular and triple chocolate chip; healthy choice, which uses wheat flour and low sugar; sugar cookies and – the latest additions – brownie cookies and red velvet cookies.
