Teams race to playoffs in School Soccer Tourney

BELVEDERE-- Reshawn Eustace scored four goals and Amaru Bute was good for three as Sister Regina blasted past Learning Unlimited in the 9+Under division of the 21st edition of the Interscholastic Soccer Tournament at the Cruyff Court in Belvedere, Saturday.

A total of 14 schools, fielding 38 teams, are competing in the annual tournament organised by the St. Maarten Soccer Educational Foundation SMSEF.

Oliver Hobgood scored four for LU which lost 7-5.

In the battle of Sister Magda the Athletics cruised past Energetics 13-0. Ajoni Rumnit found the back of the net six times. Malakhai Duzong added three to the winning tally and Oliver de Vries had two goals and an assist.

Sister Regina, Learning Unlimited and Athletics have already qualified for the 9+U semifinals. The last spot will go to Sister Borgia or Energetics. Sister Borgia has one game left against the Athletics. A win Sister Borgia needs the win to advance.

11+Under

Noah Ledee scored eight times and had two assists to propelled Learning Unlimited into the next round of the 11+Under group. LU faced Genevieve de Weever and won 12-7. The competition has been close. If the De Weever team had won they would have advanced.

Jean Luis Mendora netted four goals and had an assist for De Weever.

13+Under

Austel Richardson scored three goals to lead Leonald Conner to a 5-0 win over Caribbean International Academy and Montessori Combined Team in the 13+Under group

Hillside Christian blasted past Leonald Conner 6 – 2 in the 13+Under Girl's Division. Zanzi Brook scored three goals and recorded an assist. Regina Richardson had two goals and one assist.

Sister Regina made short work of Sister Magda. Jiarah Drijvers scored four times and had two assists as Sister Regina won 8-1. Nacirfa Drijvers added three to the winning tally. Nayomi Tjon scored for Sister Magda.

15+ Under

Jaeremi Drijvers scored seven times a Milton Peters College rolled over CIA 10-5 in the 15+Under Division.

Vivik Sabnani and Matthew Dookie scored a pair a piece for CIA.

18+Under

St. Dominic High School squeezed past MPC 7-5 in the 18+Under group. Suraj Ratwani led the winning effort with four goals and Romero Pertuz was good for two and an assist. Leonardo Chayadi netted three for MPC.

18+Under Girls.

Rishandra Carty scored twice as she powered MPC (SVOBE) to a 4-1 victory over the Mixed Team in the 18+Under Girls Division.

In the battle of the Soualiga Football Club Blue bested White 7-4. Aichelle Peters scored five goals for Blue and Kandace Franklin netted two for White.

School Soccer continues Saturday with 11 scheduled matches. First kick off is set for 9:10am.
