Bertie Higgings Free Live Concert @ The Alley

Bertie_Higgins03Island 92 Radio welcomes top ten recording artist Bertie Higgins to The Alley this Thursday, February 24. Doors open at 8:00pm for this free concert, so be sure to get there early for a good seat.

Higgins' big hit "Key Largo" blew a hole in the U.S. charts in 1981. When it reached number one in the nation, the world took notice and it went on to become a massive international hit. Over the years, other major hit singles followed like "Just Another Day in Paradise", "Casablanca (A Kiss Is Still A Kiss)", and "Pirates and Poets." In fact, "Casablanca" became "song of the year" in all of the Pacific Rim and the album hit Double Platinum. Bertie Higgins became an international recording star literally overnight, and he has continued to record and tour ever since. His ninth, and most recent album, was released worldwide in Spring 2009 on Universal Records.

Higgins has received rave reviews and accolades from the music industry and his fans alike. He is named in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland and displayed in the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in Macon. Besides being the consummate stage performer, songwriter and vocalist, he is an accomplished screenwriter/novelist and actor. Higgins has owned a successful restaurant in the Florida Keys, written music for David Letterman, Burt Reynolds and many others. He has made numerous TV talk show and music variety show appearances around the world and continues to be invited back again and again. Besides maintaining a rigorous schedule of one-nighters, he also makes regular appearances on the fabulous Las Vegas strip.

Pierre Ferland, Head Pineapple at The Alley/Pineapple Pete's exclaimed, "Wow, we're going to have Bertie Higgins right here at The Alley! I remember listening to his songs in the 80s and now when I hear them on Island 92, they bring back a flood of good memories. It's really important to know our philosophy at The Alley and at Pineapple Pete's – which is to make sure everyone has an amazing time here so that they can create great memories – we're in the business of making great memories every day. The Bertie Higgins show and others are just one more way we can ensure that everyone visiting St. Maarten will go home happy and fulfilled."

Soc of Island 92 Radio stated, "For me, Bertie Higgins' music is such a treat, I can listen to him and just escape, and isn't that what being in St. Maarten is all about? Higgins is simply put a phenomenal artist. He really personifies everything you think of when you envision an artist. His meteoric rise to fame is amazing; further, he writes and performs all his own songs. And most importantly, after all these years, Higgins is still touring, doing what he loves and entertaining us all. I have to be honest, I just can't wait to see Higgins perform this Thursday night at The Alley and I hope to see everyone there. This is going to be a show you won't want to forget!"
