Miss India St. Maarten

The 23rd Miss India Worldwide is going to be held for the first time ever in the Asian Pacific, namely in Auckland, New Zealand. The official event will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2014. Miss India Worldwide has been acclaimed as the "most glamorous Indian function in the world" and, of course, the Miss India Worldwide is the only international Indian pageant. Dolly, who was the SAI TRISHUL Foundation's appointee to participate in Miss India Worldwide 2013, said it was a very good experience. She said it would be wonderful for delegates from St. Maarten to continue participating in the Miss India Worldwide pageants.

Miss India Worldwide 2013, which took place on April 27, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was a huge success as Nehal Bhogaita of the United Kingdom was crowned Miss India Worldwide. Jasveer Kaur Sandhu of Malaysia was crowned first runner-up and Surbhi Sachdev of Oman was crowned second runner-up. Nehal Bhogaita was the first deaf contestant to enter Miss India Worldwide and she made real history by being crowned Miss India Worldwide! Nehal wants to be a role model for people like her who are deaf and disabled, and she has done just that. For her talent, Nehal performed a Bollywood dance routine that highlighted her own conviction of never giving up. While she is unable to hear the music, she dances using the vibrations of the beats.

Kiran Sunil Jivnani

Kiran Sunil Jivnani will be one of the contestants in Miss India St. Maarten on October 26. She is currently being groomed by her team. Photo shoots were done last Saturday and great shots were taken and will be used for the upcoming pageants and toward marketing efforts. It was a long but fruitful day.

Kiran is 17 years old and is a senior student at Learning Unlimited Preparatory School. She has maintained highest honours since grade seven and received the Griffin award in grade 10. Since grade eight, Kiran has consistently won either second or first place not only in the Science Fair but also in the school's Speech Competition. With her current 4.1 GPA, it's fair to say she's doing excellent academically.

One of Kiran's hobbies is dancing. She dances Bharatnataym at N.I.A., formerly Motiance Dance School, and she takes jazz and classical ballet lessons at Dance Theater of St. Maarten. Kiran also enjoys writing; she writes freestyle short stories and has taken some university classes, accumulating college credits which she'll be able to use when she graduates from high school.

Kiran is excited to participate in the Miss St. Maarten Pageant and looks forward to seeing how she'll score with the judges on October 26. St. Maarten will be monitoring the pageant delegates and we can't wait to see who will be attending Miss India Worldwide 2014 on April 5.
